I am writing on a gloomy Wednesday afternoon coming off of a spa weekend with two of my closest friends. I have indulged quite a bit lately in spending time with girlfriends and I must say that I absolutely LOVE female energy. I have felt a big shift in myself lately and I can’t ignore the timing. Feeling fully supported and wildly encouraged by my friends is like gasoline to the creative fire inside of me.
I mentioned in my last post that my friends,
, Jamie and I were headed to Southhall and WOW did it deliver. We were looking for a weekend getaway that was an easy flight (from Detroit Metro Airport), similar time zone, had access to nature hikes, spa, healthy food and workout classes. This is exactly what we experienced! It was honestly perfect! We didn’t set any alarms, journaled, had beautiful farm to table meals, did a sound bath, barre pilates class, steam room, sauna, spa services, and hiked in nature. No notes. Honestly heaven on earth. If you’re looking for a similar weekend getaway you must book this! We arrived early Friday morning (9:30am) and flew out Sunday afternoon (2:00pm) and I really loved our timing. Felt like we had the whole day on Friday there and on Sunday we were able to have a beautiful last breakfast at the restaurant, walk outside, yoga class and sauna before packing up to head to the airport. We even took salads from the hotel to go for lunch on the way to the airport. It was FAB!My recent trips have me SO excited for spring and all of the sunny days to come! We are still very much in “April Showers” mode here and I am finding so much joy watching the little buds on the trees grow a little bit bigger everyday, knowing that things are about to POP! Usually it’s the first weekend in May that is the turning point. I CANNOT WAIT! But also enjoying the process in the meantime. Anticipation is half the fun, right?!
Consider this collage to be my current stream of consciousness. A totally random collection of thoughts:
So inspired by
and everything she does (this collage has a very Kristin- inspired vibe to me :)Floral wallpaper and moroccan rugs! A combination that I cannot get off my mind lately (more inso photos below)
This Bowen Irena Ruffle Ottoman looks so sweet! I have had my eye out for a great upholstered ottoman for some time now and this is the best I’ve come across
Greek Key Tile Mosaic from Etsy- you can customize the colors, size, etc. and this shop sends you the tile mosaic rolled up like a rug- easy for any tile installer to place. This was a random find and I think it’s so fabulous!
Wide Brim Raffia Hat that is included in the fabulous J.Crew 40% off spring sale
Oak Pedestal this one lives in my dreams! With a WILD three year old I am not in my pedestal era right now, but if I were this one would be in my home
Nera Top by Doen I have the sleeveless version of this top but now I want this one! The tank version that I have tends to show more of my bra than I’d prefer but I love the style. This new short sleeve version looks so perfect!
Not a part of the sale but too sweet not to mention, this budding rose print cardigan is on it’s way to me! I can’t wait to pair it with creamy linen. This Pale Flax (chartreuse) color is on sale and I also went for it! Kelly had a pair of shorts that are this color last summer and they went with EVERYTHING. Particularly looking forward to wearing it buttoned up under my Alex Mill white denim overalls (similar and more affordable version here) to recreate the look below that I found on Pinterest:
I’ve dropped a few hints already, finally I’m thrilled to say that we are officially under contract on a beautiful home that I am SO EXCITED to share with you!!! I’ll be holding off sharing actual photos of the home until we close in late June, but until then I’ll be sharing lots of inspiration! OH and selling things! We are significantly downsizing and I am really looking forward to the challenge (and fun!) parts of “living with less”. The next couple of months will be a lot of clearing out and only keeping my absolute favorite things. A challenge that I am welcoming with open arms! I’ve also felt no hesitation with ordering new design books lately (thank goodness the new place has some great built-in shelves in the living room!) and I have been particularly taken by Veere Greeney: A Point of View: On Decorating. I think I must do my next post on all of my favorite design books…coming soon!
More of the moroccan rug/ floral wall paper inspiration I promised!
Okay, this one isn’t floral + moroccan but it’s just so, so pretty!
Until next time! Have an amazing week!! :)
Love everything about this and love everything about YOU!!! 🌞
Congrats on the house! Cant wait to see more :)
