October
The best month!
I am writing to you from my desk as I watch golden leaves dance in the wind through the window on a sunny fall day. I noticed more and more boats leave from the docks in the distance as we all say an official good-bye to summer. I love October. The cool, crisp air that just feels fresher, lighting candles and enjoying earlier nights. Our whole family loves the this cozy time. Last night Kelly asked if we could light a fire in the fireplace, snuggle and watch a movie— we obviously happily obliged, and even made pumpkin bread to mark the start of the season.

I always love a bit of a refresh in the fall. In both my home and my closet. Time to switch things out a bit. I have carefully tucked away the light linen pants that I loved in all summer and pulled out my cashmere sweaters and jackets for the cooler months. I love switching out my clothes seasonally. I always dry clean and de-pill my pieces carefully before I store them so when I bring them back out everything feels fresh and new again. I like to bring this energy into our home, too. A deep clean to mark the start of the new season is in order. Time to bring out the basket that holds the wood next to the fireplace and refresh some vignettes around the house. I also love foraging for oversized arrangements this time of year. Catching a branch mid-color change is so beautiful to me. I have “Autumn Jazz Radio” playing all through the house and I have candles in almost every space. You can shop all of the new things for fall that I’m eyeing here.

This season is so beautiful and if you don’t take a conscious effort to stop and appreciate it, it will pass you by. Usually by the first of November most of the leaves have fallen and so I love to savor every minute of this wonderful month. Some things I’m looking forward to over the next few weeks:
Soaking in our last fall with a wood-burning fireplace
Walks outside
A trip to New York!
Going to the pumpkin patch and apple orchards (basic and I don’t care!)
Going to Green Field Village’s Halloween night (we had the BEST time last year)
Watching my favorite fall classics: Practical Magic, You’ve Got Mail, Hocus Pocus, and Sleepy Hallow. Any other’s I should add to the list?!
Getting back to better habits- working outs, evening routine and cleaner eating (I love revisiting Sophie Collins 5 day reset)
Cooking more meals at home. Cleaning the kitchen, putting on good music and lighting a candle always puts me in the mood to dive into a new recipe

My ideal evening lately includes the following: Exfoliating Pads (Code Emily-15 these have been a game-changer for me!), Acupressure mat (another version I like),Pillow spray, My FAVORITE sheets! Currently 40% off, and lastly my red light mask (EmilyS) During my morning commute I pass by a beautiful park by the water and I have been stopping for about 5-10 minutes every morning to take it all in and get charged up by the sun. I know these beautiful mornings will soon be replaced by cold, grey ones and rather than dread the inevitable, I am focusing on being present and appreciating what’s right in front of me. Leaving you with a little video from this morning! Until next time XX

Soooo beautiful. Love your picks!!
